July saw PACTL handle 20% more cargo than in the same month of 2016, a considerable year-on-year improvement, but also a huge acceleration from the 13.8% year-on-year growth recorded in June.
With 167,640 tonnes handled in July alone, this figure also represents a new monthly record for the cargo handler. Volumes of international cargo, meanwhile, were up even higher for the month, growing by 21.8% Y-O-Y to 159,837 tonnes.
Rates of domestic cargo were actually lower than in June, dropping by 7.8% from 8,406 tonnes to 7,803 tonnes in July.
Nonetheless, overall volumes of cargo handled jumped from 155,125 tonnes in June to 167,640 tonnes in July, bringing the total tonnages for the first half of 2017 to over 1m as the handler continues to enjoy steady growth.
