GLC Remote Business Centre celebrates 2nd anniversary

Global Load Control's Remote Business Centre has celebrated its 2nd anniversary.

For over 21 years, GLC (Global Load Control) has been a trusted partner in airline operations, pioneering Centralised Load Control and delivering expert remote aviation services to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Two years ago, it expanded its capabilities with the launch of the Remote Business Centre (RBC) — designed to support airport check-in staff and help deliver exceptional passenger experience.

Since its launch in February 2023, RBC has grown rapidly — doubling its team from 20 to 40 agents — and now provides check-in support to over 300 Lufthansa Group stations worldwide, including Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Discover Airlines, Lufthansa City Airlines and Air Dolomiti.

GLC services, which are available 24/7, include managing extra baggage, unaccompanied minors, pet transport, sports equipment, upgrades and other booking amendments.

“The last two years have seen remarkable growth—not just in numbers but in knowledge, resilience, and teamwork,” said Ilse De Waal, Business Unit Manager. “We’re proud to be part of this journey and remain committed to supporting our airline partners well into the future.”

GLC’s RBC department works in close coordination with other RBC offices worldwide, strengthening operational efficiency across the Lufthansa Group network.

While RBC focuses on check-in support, GLC’s core expertise remains in Centralised Load Control, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient aircraft loading.
