Steady growth for Shanghai Pudong

Cargo Matters
Shanghai Pudong airport's cargo terminal (PACTL) has achieved cargo tonnage growth of 10.89% year-on-year compared to 2014.

In the first half of 2015, PACTL handled 762,104 tonnes of air freight which has exceeded the results for the first six months of any other year in the company's history. It estimated that these figures are due to the ongoing development of international cargo imports in the first half of the year, volumes of which increased by 14.66%, to a total figure of 315,044 tonnes, compared to the same period in 2014. Additionally, there has been an upward trend in domestic exports during the last quarter, with export volumes growing by 8.37%.

Vice President of PACTL , Lutz Grzegorz, commented on the encouraging statistics:
"We've registered ongoing positive developments in international imports throughout the year so far, especially from Europe and the United States. We've also been able to continuously develop our customer base, particularly in the domestic market. We therefore achieved a strong increase in domestic exports during the second quarter… I expect freight volumes to develop in a similar way for the rest of the year."
