Following a recent change in Norwegian legislation relating to the boarding of PRMs, the largest airport operator in Norway has commenced operations with Aviramp solutions at Molde airport.
Avinor chose Aviramp not only for its PRM boarding qualities but also to enhance the general passenger boarding experience. The change in legislation came about in March 2014, which saw PRMs banned from being carried on aircraft stairs. All PRMs must now be able to board and disembark in a dignified and safe way: this applies to other public utilities.
Adverse weather conditions loom large in the Norwegian aviation sector and each of the two Continental units has a fully enclosed roof, thereby adding to passenger protection. To cope with snowy conditions, the units have also have been fitted with twin wheel drive.
