Jettainer has opened its new facility, Jetthub, at Frankfurt airport, uniting its repair shop and ULD hub in one location.
At 17,000 square metres, the new JettHub warehouse can handle some 750,000 ULDs each year, hold up to 9,000 containers and pallets at any one time and has direct access to the ramp.
Previously outsourced, Jettainer's old repair shop was operated by Deufol Airport Services and located outside the airport, but its new location removes the need to transfer ULDs between facilities.
A new IT system, linking the handling, repair and maintenance systems on to one platform, will be in operation and the centre will be handled by a new provider, handling counts, a subsidiary of Lufthansa Cargo.
