IAG Cargo begins Delhi service

Cargo Matters
The new London-to-Delhi service that IAG Cargo announced back in July began operations in the week beginning October 26.

Using British Airways-operated 787-9 aircraft, each flight will carry up to 22 tonnes of cargo, meaning the airline can now offer customers a weekly capacity of up to 924 tonnes for the Indian market.

IAG hopes consignments will include high value cool chain products from India's developing pharmaceutical sector and, consequently, each of the 787-9 aircraft comes equipped with air-conditioning systems that can maintain precise temperature control, within one degree Celsius accuracy. IAG Cargo's Constant Climate service now operates in several Indian pharma hubs, including Hyderabad, Chennai and Delhi.
