FCG OPS strengthens presence in Africa by acquiring Astra Aviation

FCG OPS has expanded its presence in Africa with the acquisition of Astra Aviation, a well-established ground services company.

Astra Aviation was founded in 2005 and has a deep local knowledge of the African market, whose experience and expertise will be integral for seamless service delivery to maintain continuity for existing clients.

The team of supervisors and Africa-based dispatchers will join FCG OPS.

Sergey Starkov, CEO of FCG OPS said: “Africa’s aviation industry is rapidly developing but remains operationally challenging, especially for European and North American carriers. By combining Astra Aviation’s local expertise with our service standards and infrastructure, we’re perfectly positioned to bridge this gap – just as we are successfully doing in Central Asia and various parts of Europe.”

Phil Eyre, Founder and Managing Director of Astra Aviation added: “This transition not only expands our service capabilities but also provides our clients with enhanced operational efficiency and technological approach of FCG OPS.”

FCG OPS plan to fully onboard the Astra Aviation team into its infrastructure within the next six months.

The company adds that new and existing customers can expect uninterrupted services throughout the transition period.
