dnata renews Zurich Airport licence for seven years

dnata has been awarded a new licence at Zurich Airport, allowing it to provide ground handling services for another seven years.

At Zurich Airport, dnata’s team of 500 employees serve 40 passenger and cargo airlines, handling over 35 turnarounds and 150 tonnes of cargo a day.

The licence was renewed following a competitive public tender conducted by the airport operator.

dnata has made investments at Zurich Airport by rolling out its One Cargo digital cargo management system, which automates key business and operational functions.

It has also invested in GSE by increasing the share of electric vehicles in its fleet to 42%.

The service provider has also signed a lease agreement with the airport authority to exclusively operate its new 9,500m2 advanced warehouse facility.

The facility is under construction and expected to open in early 2027, increasing dnata’s cargo capacity at Zurich Airport by 50%.

Willy Ruf, Managing Director of dnata Switzerland, said: “We are proud to have earned the trust of Zürich Airport once again. The renewal of our license is a clear vote of confidence in our team, highlighting our reliability and commitment to service excellence.  We will continue to invest in our people, infrastructure and equipment to deliver best-in-class services to our customers.”
