Despite operations ceasing in August last, Cambata Aviation has reportedly not paid staff salaries since March 2016.

According to updates from Indian news entities The Times of India and The Hindu, on January 18, the ground handling company was ordered to pay “over Rs 100 crore to their employees at any cost," by Labour minister Sambhaji Patil, who also announced that he had informed the revenue department to take necessary steps to recover dues. The dues have reportedly been pending since last February and some 2,700 employees have been affected by the delayed release of the funds.
The total sum owed is reported to be around Rs 109.8 crore (approx. US$16.9m) as of Jan 2017. Four orders have been passed by the industrial court since July 2016, two of which were for the initiation of recovery procedures by seizing Cambata Aviation's assets.
