Aviator has signed a contract to purchase the first fully electric FB 600 tow tractor from Kalmar Motor.
The 60-tonne tractor, for the pushback and maintenance towing of wide body aircraft, will be delivered to Aviator's operation at Copenhagen airport, where the handler recently won the contract to provide ground services for Lufthansa.
The agreement also involves GSE service company HiServ, which will lease the electric tractor to Aviator.
A contract signing was hosted during Kalmar Motor's customer open day at their new factory on June 12. Present at the signing were Kalmar Motor CEO Magnus Johansson; Aviator's Johan Selèn and Rasmus Dyre, Regional Business Development Manager, HiServ.
