First electric pushback for dnata Dubai

GSE Focus
Recently Kalmar Motor and dnata, in Dubai, signed an agreement for a TBL800, a battery-powered pushback tractor.

The tractor will be delivered around May 2019 and will be the first TBL800 outside of Europe, and coincidentally the first unit in the United Arab Emirates. This represents a big commitment from Dnata but the handler is looking to reduce its levels of emissions and save on operating costs.

The TBL800 will be used for transporting Emirates aircraft to and from the EK Maintenance facility. Given that Emirates have 100 A380s, it is expected that the TBL800 will make a large impact on its operations.
