For the summer season, the carrier increased the frequency of flights from Dublin to its Toronto hub to 11 times a week, and was subsequently able to offer the option of e-AWB. The carrier was keen to emphasise that using e-AWB bills would save customers time and money by eliminating the need to print, sign, sort or file the paper documents, adding that E-AWBs offer greater accuracy and confidentiality to the customer.
Over a short 12 month period, Air Canada Cargo has more than doubled its use of e-AWBs, with implementation increasing to 28.4% in May this year from 14.2% a year ago. This brings ACC slightly ahead of the industry average, which currently resides at 27.9%. In IATA's list of top 50 e-AWB airlines, the airline ranked number 21 in May this year.
