Worldwide Flight Services CEO Olivier Bijaoui steps down

WFS announced today that CEO Olivier Bijaoui has left the company. His role will be assumed in the interim by the Group’s Chief Operating Officer, Barry Nassberg.

Nassberg, who joined WFS more than 20 years ago, is confident that WFS maintains a strong position and that business will continue as usual throughout the transition at management level. "WFS is a strong and growing company with dedicated employees throughout the organisation and strong leaders at every level," he remarked. "Our recent acquisition of CAS has all the potential we expected and the integration of our companies is proceeding ahead of schedule.”

Nassberg went on to disclose that WFS also has several new business acquisitions lined up, with other promising opportunities on the horizon.

The move comes just over one year since WFS’ acquisition by Platinum Equity and just three months after the company acquired US cargo handler, Consolidated Aviation Services, in February this year. Commenting on the success of the project, Nassberg said: "Our teams have embraced the opportunity to create an even more successful global enterprise. I'm proud of the commitment and dedication to serving our customers I've witnessed from employees at both WFS and CAS as e bring the two organisations together," Head of the European investment team at Platinum Equity, Bastian Lueken, said that WFS' growth strategy is playing out as hoped. "Teams throughout the company are performing at a high level with an intense focus on serving customers," he commented.
"We are pleased with the direction the company is headed and are fully committed to supporting its long-term strategic plan."

Lueken concluded that he is anticipating a seamless transition and expressed confidence in the company’s search for a new CEO.
