The joint venture will give customers access to capacity on the carriers' combined route network, with thousands of new route combinations and more than 600 direct connections per week between the US and Europe between the two. Additionally, customers will benefit from aligned booking processes, along with co-ordinated handling processes and transfers at numerous stations. Time saving benefits can therefore also be expected.

"We are excited about the benefits that will be generated by our teams’ co-operation and our combined capacities,” said Jan Krems, President of United Cargo. “Cargo customers will appreciate the opportunities for quicker and easier shipping between key locations in the US and Europe."
The signing of the contract triggers the implementation phase of the joint venture: the first stage of the project. During this phase, the carriers will align their cargo IT systems and business processes, with joint business expected to begin later in the year.
