The Minister of Transport announced the successful conclusion of a new air services agreement between Canada and the UK on December 1.

The new agreement will see the continued operation of Canadian and British air carriers between the two countries following the UK’s departure from the EU, and gives those airlines full flexibility on route selection (including via third countries), frequency and pricing.
The agreement also includes unrestricted rights for all-cargo services as well as code-share services.
The new terms will take effect when the UK is no longer covered by the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Air Transport Agreement, ensuring that air services continue uninterrupted following Brexit.
