It is the first time the system, which fastens docking and undocking processes for passenger flights, has been installed at a major airport for a real flight operation.
The RCS allows PBBs to be safely controlled by an operator from a remote position instead of the classic operation inside the bridge. Previously, it was necessary to move the systems manually at each landing and adapt them to the respective model on site at the stand for the different aircraft types.
The system consists of a set of cameras to give the operator an enlarged field of view when docking and undocking a passenger boarding bridge. High-precision sensors assist the operator during the positioning process. The solution thus saves the time used by operators to move from one passenger boarding bridge to another and increases staff efficiency and minimises the risk of damage to aircraft.
