The lease co-operation gets underway on May 1 2018. In so doing, GH Italia takes something of a trendsetter’s position by upgrading its GSE fleet through leasing with TCR.
The initiative will allow GH Italia to rapidly renew most of its fleet at the three airports, optimise its GSE operations and prepare it for future growth. On top of this, a portion of the GSE is equipped with anti-collision systems to prevent damage to aircraft during handling operations, thereby increasing safety. This will help the handler align more closely with IATA's AHM 903.
Furthermore, GHI and TCR are taking a green approach to this contract, by introducing electric stairs and conveyor belts, as well as motorised equipment with the latest, eco-friendly Euro 6 diesel engines. Once fully up and running, the GSE concept may be extended to other stations across GHI Italian network.
