Talma inaugurates facilities at New Jorge Chavez airport

Talma has inaugurated its new facilities at the New Jorge Chavez International Airport, where it has invested more than $30 million.

The money was invested in developing and implementing infrastructure, technology and equipment.

Ramp operations infrastructure covers 3,000m2 while the cargo workshop area covers 700m2.

Talma has deployed 1,000 pieces of GSE in its operations, of which 300 are motorised and 700 are non-motorised.

The company has started the renewal of 200 additional items of motorised equipment.

Staff received more than 26,000 hours of specialised training to guarantee safe and efficient operations, in addition to 3,000 hours of tests.

The tests included more than 50 operational exercises with aircraft.

During the execution phase of the project, more than 100 new direct jobs and 200 indirect jobs were created.

Arturo Cassinelli, Corporate General Manager of Talma said the company is pleased with the development of its facilities at the new airport, which includes a new ramp operations base, specialised equipment, a new cargo equipment workshop, an operations control centre, new OMA space, passenger service offices and space for its administration and operations departments.

He said: “This milestone allows us to strengthen the ramp, cargo, passenger and maintenance services we provide to our clients, responding to forecast growth in demand for these operations, passenger volume and the sophistication of the operations involved in this new airport infrastructure.”
