Swissport renews SAS ground handling contract at London Heathrow

Swissport has renewed its contract to provide ground handling services for Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) at London’s Heathrow airport Terminal 2.

The new agreement will see the handler continue to provide premium check-in, gate and ticketing functions for passengers, as well as full ramp handling and aircraft cleaning across 5,500 flights a year for the next three years.

Gary Ellis, Scandinavian Airlines’ Area Station Manager UK & Ireland said: ‘’Following on from our initial four-year contracted period at Heathrow, after an exhaustive tender process Scandinavian Airlines is very pleased to extend our co-operation for a further three-year term. We look forward to continuing our positive long-standing relationships both at Heathrow and additionally Edinburgh, Birmingham and London Stansted which have also seen their contracts extended for a further three years.’’

Swissport handles around 22 daily flights for SAS across the UK at Heathrow, Birmingham, Edinburgh and Stansted airports, servicing narrow body Airbus, Boeing and CRJ-900 aircraft.
