Says Marius Myhre, CEO of WGH, “We are very proud that SAS have reiterated their confidence and trust in us. The fact that we have regained the contract at 12 out of 15 airports shows that the effort invested by the whole company in recent years has paid dividends.”
WGH took over SAS’ operations at Norwegian out stations in 2016 and has remained an independent operator since, developing products and solutions that meet the needs of the market. WGH and SAS have now signed a new, multi-year contract for the delivery of ground services commencing 2021. The contract has an estimated value of almost NOK 900m.
The new partnership will take effect from February 1 2021 and encompasses the following airports: Kirkenes, Alta, Lakselv, Svalbard, Evenes, Bodø, Trondheim, Kristiansund, Molde, Stavanger, Haugesund and Ålesund.
WGH will also retain a presence in Kristiansand, Bergen and Tromsø to serve other partners, although its partnership with SAS will be ending in those locations.
“SAS has great partnerships with our ground services providers at Norwegian airports. We look forward to continuing to ensure safe, secure travel experiences for our passengers in co-operation with WGH,” says Gunilla Olsson, VP Global Line Stations at SAS Ground Handling.
