Swissport International has experienced a successful start to 2018.
During the first half of the year, Swissport served 132m passengers on behalf of its airline clients, this being up 10.0% on the first half of 2017. Cargo volumes increased to 2.3m tonnes (up 5.0%) whilst revenues for the first six months climbed to reach €1.43bn (up 4.1%). Swissport's EBITDA reached €116.3m, a healthy increase of 35.5%.
The above positive developments can be attributed to organic growth, with most regions profiting from increased global economic activity; and to the contribution of Aerocare, following the company’s acquisition in March 2018. With an increase of 5.0% to 2.3m tonnes, the cargo division also traded positively in the January to June period.
