Starting this July, Swissport will be offering airport ground services at Austin Bergstrom International airport.
The Texas station adds to Swissport’s dense US network of 44 airports around 25 states. Austin is Swissport's first opening of a new US airport location in six years, underlining its growth ambitions as the industry recovers from the pandemic.
Following the first Aeromexico flight, arriving from Mexico City on July 1, Swissport successfully started up operations. In Austin, Swissport teams up with its US subsidiary Hallmark, which is responsible for passenger services such as check-in and gate, whereas Swissport's own staff will be serving airline customers on the ramp with services including the loading and unloading of baggage, refuelling, aircraft cleaning and movement of aircraft and pushback.
