It was announced on May 5 that Swissport International and SWISS signed a memorandum of understanding on March 24 2015.
The MoU extends their joint handling operations at Zurich airport until the end of 2020 and encompasses passenger services at check-in and gate, baggage handling, all ramp services and aircraft de-icing at Zurich airport. During the length of the contract, it is anticipated that Swissport will handle some 120,000 arrivals and departures for and on behalf of SWISS in Zurich every year, as well as 7m departing passengers. A renewal of the co-operation at Geneva is also expected – with services at this station thought to reach 20,000 arrivals and departures per year.
