In April 2016, Munich airport plans to open its new Satellite Terminal, which promises to provide an enhanced experience for disabled passengers.
Along with quiet zones, showers near the gates and a plentiful supply of electrical outlets and USB connections, the new terminal will offer passengers with reduced mobility their very own lounge. For an enhanced traveller experience, the lounge will feature four special reclining lounge chairs, each in a separate space, in addition to fully accessible toilets and showers. The elevators can be operated with no difficulty by passengers with disabilities.
The new Satellite Terminal will provide baby changing facilities not only in the women's restrooms but, for the first time, in the men's restrooms as well. Additionally, clearly marked play areas will be provided for children to enjoy while waiting to board the aircraft.
