With the implementation of Amadeus Altéa Ground Handler Departure Control solution (DCS) and Amadeus’ cloud-based Baggage Reconciliation System (BRS), the airport is addressing slow check-in procedures and lost and delayed baggage to improve operations and the traveller experience for its 2m passengers per year.
In recent years, as flight numbers have increased, Pristina airport has developed its infrastructure and route network. In just two months, since migrating to the next-generation of Amadeus Altéa DCS in April, the airport has generated a 20% reduction of its costs associated with check-in and airline weight and balance activities.
With the adoption of the BRS solution, Pristina has ensured its airline customers are able to comply with IATA’s Resolution 753, which came into effect in June.
COO of Pristina International airport, Gökmen Aritay, said that it is vital for the airport operate “cost efficient, agile and reliable operations” as it continues to grow in terms of passengers, routes and airlines, hence the decision to implement Amadeus’ solutions. “Working with Amadeus supports us in our mission to provide a sustainable, safe and secure environment and to increase the service level quality for our customers continuously,” Aritay said, adding: “thanks to these solutions our operational costs are falling, while keeping our airlines customers happy too.”
