The executive committee of the organisation is represented by Changi Airport Group’s Jaisey Yip and Lim Shyan Jun, Brussels airport’s Nathan De Valck and Miami International airport’s Jimmy Nares.
Nares commented on the raised profile that Pharma.Aero has enjoyed at industry events in recent months, adding: “…with the accelerated pace of companies lining up to become members, it is clear that many of the operators of the industry appreciate the content that Pharma.Aero is bringing to our industry.
“The addition of Kansai Airports as a member of Pharma.Aero along with Southeast Asian airports who are already members (Singapore, Changi International airport and Hong Kong International airport), bolsters MIA’s initiative to increase cargo and add passenger service with airports in that region,” he said.
Hayato Shingu, Director, Cargo Development Group at Kansai Airports, explained that the concept of Pharma.Aero was one with which Kansai Airports related. “Although Japan is a country with large distribution of pharmaceuticals, quality standards and distribution are not advanced. It is necessary to introduce world standards and raise transportation quality in Japan. By joining Pharma.Aero, we are working closely with not only our stakeholders, but also other airports and shippers in other areas to improve transportation quality. We would like to be the leading airport for air pharmaceutical transportation in Northeast Asia,” Shingu commented.
Now in its twenty-fifth year of business, Penta Freight recently joined Pharma.Aero, too. Aditya Parulkar, President at Penta Freight, India, called the initiative “the right step forward in bringing relevant stakeholders together to work towards achieving excellence in reliable end-to-end air transportation for pharma shippers.” He added that Penta Freight is also acquiring CEIV certification as part of the pilot community in India.
Camille Diges, Global Director of Life Sciences at Unisys, said the company shares Pharma.Aero’s commitment to identifying best practices to improve visibility and security within every stage of the supply chain. “Given Unisys’ track-record of providing modern, business-led solutions to the life sciences, healthcare and air cargo industries, we can bring a unique perspective to the Pharma.Aero community of stakeholders,” she said.
