AFS Kenya will handle around 11,500 tonnes of cargo each year for NAS’ MD-11 and Boeing 747 freighter operations. The flights arrive in Nairobi from Liege, Belgium, carrying general cargo and continue on to Doncaster Sheffield airport in the UK, carrying shipments of fresh flowers, fruits and vegetables for the UK and European consumer markets.
AFS Kenya operates a special facility in Nairobi to support the movement of perishable cargoes from Kenya. This includes 4,735 square metres of temperature-controlled storage, accommodating a temperature range of 2⁰C - 8⁰C, and an ETV system with 172 ULD storage positions.
