Lufthansa launches air cargo service for private customers

With “myAirCargo”, private clients can now book with Lufthansa Cargo.

Lufthansa Cargo has launched its latest online service offering, which makes it possible for private customers to send sizeable shipments overseas by air.

Within this service, the subsidiary carrier provides complete transport door-to-door and attends to customs formalities on behalf of the shipper, too. In this way, large items can be sent internationally with minimum effort on the part of the customer. For example, holidaymakers could send home any oversized souvenirs they may purchase while abroad.

An online exclusive, the new service is only available via www.myaircargo.com and can be booked in just five steps. According to Lufthansa Cargo, the price for shipments as well as the expected customs fees are displayed clearly and can be easily settled by credit card.

“We are excited that private clients can now benefit directly from our many years of air cargo experience. By doing so, we are occupying an innovative niche in the market between postal services and forwarders. Book air cargo quickly and easily online, at first hand – only we can do that”, said Peter Gerber, CEO of Lufthansa Cargo.

The new “myAirCargo” service is available already in most European countries and in the USA. Over the next few months, Lufthansa Cargo plans to extend the offer to numerous other countries.
