Ground staff at Deutsche Lufthansa, Lufthansa Technik, Lufthansa Cargo and other companies have called a 60-hour warning strike from 6pm this evening (Wednesday 6 March) until 7.10am on Saturday 9 March.

Lufthansa is warning customers that the strike will affect its flight schedule and that passengers affected by the strike action will receive information about cancellations and rebooking options by email or the Lufthansa app.

In addition to the ground staff strike, Verdi will be striking at security checkpoints at Frankfurt and Hamburg airports tomorrow (Thursday 7 March).

There will be no access to the departure area so Lufthansa is asking passengers not to come to the airport tomorrow.

In a statement on the Lufthansa website, the airline said about the security strike: “We regret the inconvenience caused by this additional strike announced by Verdi at short notice. We ask for your understanding in view of the current exceptional situation caused by the strike.”
