Germany's number one freight airline, Lufthansa, experienced a slight decline in transported cargo volumes in 2014.
It transported a total of 1,669m tonnes of freight and mail, down from 1,715m tonnes in 2013, resulting in a slight year-on-year decline of -2.7%. Despite this, it was able to maintain its capacity utilisation for 2014 with a cargo load factor of 69.7%, in the face of tough competition, and sold an impressive 8.6bn revenue tonne-kilometres.
