Jettainer to manage ULDs for Brussels Airlines

Lufthansa Cargo subsidiary and ULD management company Jettainer has taken over the management and maintenance of the containers for Brussels Airlines, as of February 5.

The airline was presented with a specially designed ULD (pictured) to mark the occasion, which will travel “as an ambassador for the two companies in future”, a press release said.

A brand new fleet of 1,000 modern and lightweight ULDs, many of which are AKEs, are now at Brussels Airlines’ disposal, offering a reduction in weight whilst maintaining their robust quality. The environment also stands to benefit as their lightweight quality will help to minimise fuel consumption by the airline.

In light of the new partnership, Jettainer hopes to expand its network in various African regions, traditionally served from Brussels. “We’re looking forward to servicing Brussels Airlines,” said Martin Kraemer, Head of Marketing and PR at Jettainer. “As a result, our network of stations will increase significantly in the African region.” He added that Jettainer is keen to offer its new customer innovations in the way of its IT systems as well as the containers themselves. “The new JettApp reflects our continual development and our strong innovative capability,” Kraemer concluded.
