CargoSpect is a camera-based AI system that captures cargo data including dimensions and weight in real time.
It is equipped with 10 cameras that can capture 500 measurements an hour, which Cind says transforms the way cargo is handled, maximises space of each cargo shipment, automates data collection and boosts sustainability through improved load efficiency.
The in-motion technology is capable of dynamic measurements at speeds of up to 7km/h, eliminating the need to stop and unload pallets.
Cind’s system can read text such as “do not stack” from cargo labels and a non-stackable pallet check has been developed, which is based on trained models for the 3D models it has created.
Adam Carson, Chief Operations Officer at IAG Cargo, said: “The integration of AI technologies will equip our teams with more accurate real-time data empowering us to make smarter logistics decisions. This leads to greater efficiency and a higher quality service for our customers.”
Marcus Schelin, CEO of Cind, added: “Dimensioning is a critical component in cargo logistics as it ensures that every cargo space is utilised efficiently. With the CargoSpect solution, IAG Cargo can measure cargo volumes and at the same time collect all different types of necessary data that are used to improve overall logistics performance and increased security.”
