Hainan Airlines and WFS extend partnership in Seattle

Hainan Airlines and Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) have extended their partnership in Seattle with a new ramp handling contract.

WFS has been providing Hainan Airlines with cargo handling services at Seattle Tacoma International Airport since 2013 and it will now load and unload 3-5 preighter flights a week connecting the city with Shanghai’s Pudong airport.

It will also provide other services including crew shuttle, lavatory, water and GPU services.

The cargo only flights carry around 20 tonnes in the lower deck of a Boeing 787 passenger aircraft, which replaces passenger services Hainan Airlines operated to Seattle pre-pandemic.

Franke Clement, Senior Vice President Cargo North America at WFS said: “Our good reputation for ramp handling, as well as our long service to Hainan as the airline’s cargo handling partner, has enabled us to win this welcome new business in Seattle. Our local ramp and cargo teams are helping Hainan provide much-needed cargo capacity on this prime route connecting China and the US.”
