The two companies have announced the signing of a partnership agreement that dictates the regular exchange of information and best practices in such areas as customer service, quality management, consulting projects, commercial activities, IT systems, property development, staff development, airport security and environmental protection. Additional projects, such as a staff and management exchange programme, are also planned.
With the signing of the contract, ACSA becomes the first African partner of FMG, which has similar agreements in action with Nagoya, Japan, Beijing, Denver, Singapore and airports in Thailand. ACSA operates nine international airports in South Africa, including Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban, and is currently planning several projects to increase capacity.
"We're delighted to have gained this strong partner on the African continent," were the words of Michael Kerkloh, President and CEO of Munich airport. "Our co-operation with ACSA will yield important knowledge and ideas on the airport business in Africa, and I'm confident that our partner will also benefit through the exchange visits to Munich."
