Dettmer Group takes over Hamburg air cargo handling company

The Bremen-based Dettmer Group has taken over LHU Luft Hafen Umschlag, the largest air cargo handling company at Hamburg airport.

The new ownership follows the insolvency of LHU’s former owner, the Carl Tiedemann Group. Despite changing hands, the company and the employment of the staff remain safe.

The family-owned Dettmer Group controls enterprises in the field of shipping, air cargo handling, container packing, storage and transshipment, rail logistics, tank farms and kerosene pipeline from the head office in Bremen.

"The affiliation of LHU with LUG aircargo handling will open new opportunities. The excellent connections of LUG to airlines worldwide airlines will help to raise cargo volumes in Hamburg,” Dettmer commented.
