Menzies secures handling contracts with Air China

Menzies Aviation has announced a new ground handling contract with Air China at Nice airport, alongside the renewal of a cargo contract at San Francisco airport.

The three year contract at Nice will commence on August 3 2019, and will see Menzies deliver full range ground handling services to Air China on three weekly flights from Beijing Capital airport, with a total of 156 flights per year and 18,000 turnarounds. With this agreement with Air China, Menzies takes on its first widebody customer at Nice airport.

The handler has also renewed a three year cargo contract with Air China at San Francisco airport, where it will handle over 8,000 tonnes per year for the Chinese flag carrier. Air China is one of Menzies’ largest cargo customers in the Americas region, where it has been a customer for over 25 years. Menzies also provides ground handling and cargo services to the airline at hubs including London Heathrow, Macau International airport and, most recently, Los Angeles International airport.

Giles Wilson, Chief Executive Officer said: “This has been a significant year for our relationship with Air China, and we are delighted to be chosen as the airline’s trusted ground handling partner as it embarks on operations at Nice airport. Winning our first widebody customer is an important step for Menzies at Nice Airport, and is a result of the continued hard work and dedication of the local ground handling team.

“We are delighted to extend our relationship with Air China in San Francisco, where we have been working together successfully for over 25 years. We are proud to receive this renewal for Air China and honoured to be their representative cargo handler for the next three years.”
