The app matches requests for truck loading and offloading with the ground handler’s availability, and proposes an alternative time slot if no match can be found. This streamlines freight delivery and pick-up at the ground handler’s facilities, eliminates wait times for the forwarder and makes BRUcargo more efficient.
In this first phase of rollout, only the warehouses of Aviapartner and WFS are available for pre-booking via the app, whose gates are marked with the BRUcloud Slot Booking App logo.
In addition to Aviapartner and WFS Belgium, the following companies will be joining the booking app: Nippon Express Belgium; DHL Global Forwarding; Kuehne + Nagel; Panalpina; Sky Fast.
The app was first trialled back in September 2017 using two of WFS’s warehouses, which were booked by forwarders Nippon Express and DHL Global Forwarding. DHL Global Forwarding then became the first to book an official slot, scheduled for today.
