American Airlines Cargo announced a 15% increase in overall cargo traffic for 2017, compared to the previous calendar year.

This results followed a year long effort to continue improving the customer experience with the introduction of new self-service tools to automate the booking process, alongside further implementation of services such as proactive shipment re-accommodation.
Throughout 2017, the carrier also announced a series of business enhancements regarding its green initiatives, pharmaceuticals capabilities and infrastructure, as well as the addition of further wide body routes and new destinations.
The airline also won its third consecutive Cargo Airline of the Year award in 2017 and its tenth Cargo Airline of the Americas award.
