A new contract has been signed by ADELTE with the Civil Aviation Authority to improve boarding operations at Jinnah International airport.

Under the new contract, 12 old passenger boarding bridges will be dismantled and disposed and 18 new electromechanical glass-sided Apron Drive models will be designed and installed, along with 12 walkways and 30 rooftops, also designed and manufactured by ADELTE.

The new PBBs and GSE will serve a variety of aircraft, and are compatible with all current and future needs of airlines operating at Karachi, while offering optimised safety and comfort for the 16m passengers travelling to and from Karachi every year.

Jordi Floreta, Vice President and Commercial Director at ADELTE, commented on the new agreement. "Pakistan is a growing market where we already have experience providing airport equipment. The PCAA is very demanding and is willing to modernise its airport infrastructure and enhance operations with ADELTE's high quality technology, products and services. We are very confident that this contract will consolidate a long term relationship."
