The Government of Jammu and Kashmir’s Minister for Health and Medical Education, Bali Bhagat, inaugurated the training centre on March 4, saying it was much needed for the youth of the state. Trainees can undertake various courses to help them gain employment in the aviation sector.
Bhagat praised Zoom Air for establishing the training centre in the state, remarking that the airline industry has huge potential to provide employment opportunities to the youth and that undergoing the necessary training will dramatically increase their chances of getting jobs. “Our youth are rich in talent but with the absence of requisite training facilities, the state youth were lacking much-needed credentials to enter the sector,” he said.
The new training centre has a capacity of 60 and will offer three courses initially: a one-year course for cabin crew; a nine-month course for ground staff; and a four-month course on ground handling services.
After the end of the training course at the training centre, candidates will be sent for an additional three-month course at the Zoom Air training centre in Delhi.
Managing Director of Zoom Air training centre, Nazir Ahmad Wani, has reportedly said that, at the end of training, the best candidates will be taken on by Zoom Airlines.
Among others, Vice Chairman J&K Small Scale Industries Development Corporation Limited (SICOP), Ali Mohammad, and senior officials of Zoom Airlines were also present at the inauguration of the centre.
