TractEasy joins John Deere supply base

TractEasy has been chosen to supply its EZTow autonomous tow-tractor to John Deere globally.
TractEasy is a supplier of autonomous towing solutions, particularly for outdoor use, and a joint venture between ground service equipment manufacturer TLD and driverless technology provider EasyMile.

TractEasy was awarded the contract after an initial proof of concept last year where an EZTow moved combine harvester cabs from staging to the assembly line at John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline, Illinois on an exterior route. The vehicle used a range of sensors and cameras with real-time processing to navigate mixed traffic and winter conditions.

“We are delighted to be chosen to join the John Deere supply base. Manufacturing flows that include exterior routes are ripe for automation and we’re thrilled to be leading the way with John Deere,” said Richard Reno, CEO of TractEasy.

Earlier this month Advanced Charging Technologies (ACT) announced it will be supporting TractEast EZTow operations in the USA and France by providing charging solutions.

Last year the EZTow at Toulouse-Blagnac Airport went fully driverless, reaching a critical milestone in the deployment of autonomous vehicles at airports.
