The manufacturer considers this to be the industry’s most advanced and versatile remote-controlled electric towbarless aircraft tug in its class. This latest application combines flexibility, adaptability, practical features, tow capacity and capability in one package. A heavy-duty configuration of the proven 5-Series tug rated for a towing power of up to 165,000 pounds (75 tonnes) MTOW, its strong prime movers have a tractive motor power of up to 176,000 pounds, or 80 tonnes.
This model has been specially designed and configured to cope with significant stress and can handle aircraft on steep slopes or inclines or in other unusually harsh conditions, such as on aircraft carriers or offshore helicopter platforms. The launch date coincides with the arrival of the improved standard 5-Series configuration, with many 2018 model year updates.
