Known as the M7, this CE-certified vehicle advances the TUG product line-up of tow tractors to offer an enhanced operator experience. With a completely rethought cab design, the new TUG M7 allows the operator to step through the cab by eliminating the centre console and offers left hand or right hand drive capabilities with a redesigned, centralised console and illuminated rocker switches. The modern interior provides improved visibility for the operator, with a 10 square foot front windscreen and an 8.5 square foot rear window.
“The operator will notice the difference when he steps into the M7,” affirms Matt Chaffin, Vice President, Ground Support Equipment for Textron Specialized Vehicles, which manufactures GSE products under the TUG, Douglas and Premier brands. “The M7 gives the operator more space within the cab and reduces noise within the cab, from 90 decibels to 65 decibels.”
The M7 also boasts a redesigned hydraulic system, automotive-style feedback steering with a tilt steering wheel, a spring-applied, hydraulically released parking brake and optional sliding doors.
For durability, the chassis has been redesigned with a bolt-on 3/8 inch A36 steel front bumper, providing an extra layer of protection for the operator.
