Adding the extra space will help Swissport optimise capacity and route planning for airlines while supporting CO2 reduction goals.
In 2024, Swissport handled over 47,000 tons of cargo at EuroAirport, which is a key gateway for goods such as pharmaceuticals.
To support growth with the efficient use of existing flights, Swissport is increasing capacity and coordinating with French and Swiss customs for streamlined processes tailored to the airport’s bi-national structure.
The measures enable faster last-mile distribution and smooth, efficient cargo handling.
Andreas Behnke, Head of Cargo Switzerland, Italy and France, and Station Manager in Basel at Swissport said: “As an expert in air freight, we continuously adapt our logistics capacities to meet demand with excellence and efficiency, while upholding the highest safety and security standards.”
