Iberia Airport Services will provide handling to more than 100 airlines this summer.
Amongst its 12 new clients are are Swiss, TAP, Vietnam Airlines and World2fly. Charter carriers include Jettime and One Airways while carriers Luxwing and Chair have also contracted with Iberia.
On peak days, Iberia’s handling unit expects to reach 80% of 2019's work volumes, attending to more than 1,000 flights. Nearly all the fleet of 9,000 GSE is online, having been largely mothballed during the worst of the pandemic. Vaccination campaigns and the progressive lifting of restrictions are now breathing life into Spanish airports.
In May, Iberia Airport Services attended a total of some 1.7m passengers and more than 8,700 flights, some 70% below the figures for the same month of 2019.
