Skyport handles 30 live falcons

Skyport has handled a shipment of 30 live falcons travelling from Prague to Kuwait City to combat bird strikes by clearing other species of birds.

The birds of prey, which were bred in the Czech Republic, were transported in secure, carpeted boxes and provided with falcon hoods to reduce stress and keep them safe.

Skyport operates using IATA’s Live Animal Transportation regulations, Skyport’s in-house cargo handling manual, and the airline’s cargo handling manual, along with supervision from the shipper, border station veterinary staff and the airline loadmaster.

David Adamek, CEO of Skyport says: “At Skyport, we ensure live animal cargos receive the best care, best welfare, and as little stress as possible, so we move the animals at the very last moment in order to make their stay at our facility and overall travel time as short as possible.”
