Schiphol Aviation awards presented

The awards, which take place each year to recognise the contributions of Royal Schiphol Group’s business partners, were presented during a ceremony at Arendshoeve, Garden of Amsterdam.

Winners from six categories received their awards from Birgit Otto, Chief Operations Officer and André van den Berg, Chief Commercial Officer, both of Royal Schiphol Group.

“Each year, Royal Schiphol Group presents aviation awards to business partners which have distinguished themselves through innovative business operations or positive performance,” said Otto. “Royal Schiphol Group is proud to work with such innovative business partners.”

KLM Cargo won the Cargo Award for its connection optimisation project that significantly speeds up and enhances the efficiency of European supply chains. Reusing and improving existing information has led to a 20% improvement in lead times on the Frankfurt-Amsterdam route and has significantly improved the predictability of the chain.

AirBridge Cargo and Pharma Gateway Amsterdam were the other nominees in the Cargo Award category, and each received a certificate of recognition on the night.

The other award winners were:

  • Operational Excellence Award: Transavia
  • Efficiency Award: Delta Air Lines
  • Passenger Airline of the Year – Intercontinental: Jet Airways
  • Passenger Airline of the Year - Europe: KLM
  • Sustainability Award: Air Baltic
