Saudia Airlines caters for the visually impaired

PRM Update
Saudia Airlines recently announced the implementation of new measures geared towards enhancing the flying experience for visually impaired passengers.

The carrier, which operates a fleet of 165 aircraft, has introduced Braille versions of its safety cards, menu, and its monthly magazine. Saudia's PR Vice President, Abdul Rahman Al-Fahad, said the services now offered by Saudia ensure passengers with impaired sight will travel with greater peace of mind.

Additionally, a special meal featuring pre-cut food (served as bite size chunks) is offered to blind passengers on request, providing 48 hours' notice is given. The Braille menu details the composition of the meal and its position on the tray.

Individual safety briefing joins the new catalogue of special measures for blind passengers, which includes an explanation of when and where to exit the aircraft, and outlines all on-board services available to passengers with disabilities.
