Lufthansa has signed a wages agreement with its staff union Verdi for some 33,000 ground personnel, according to the union and the airline.
Under the terms of the agreement there will be a salary increase for the carrier’s ground personnel as well as for staff employed at Lufthansa Systems, Lufthansa Service, Lufthansa Technik and Lufthansa Cargo. This will total 2.2% and becomes effective on January 1 next year. In addition to this there will be a one-off payment of €2,250 for each full-time employee.
In January 2017 a further 2.2% increase will take effect, with the overall agreement terminating at the end of that year.
