The Board of Airport Commissioners of Los Angeles has approved a proposal to develop a remote airline lounge for celebrities at Los Angeles International.
The new facility, which will be developed in the location of an old cargo facility, will include a 43,750 square feet building and a 13,840 square foot parking area. The lounge, expected to generate US$34.7m in revenues to Los Angeles World Airports, will allow celebrities such as film stars, sports people, business magnates and politicians, as well as some regular passengers, to choose a more private boarding process.
Furthermore, the new service will reduce the LAWA Airport Police security detail for these types of passengers and divert paparazzi away from the Central Terminal Area.
